Childlike Creativity

When you really think about it, children have the perfect mindset for innovation. Why don't we ask young students for their thoughts on our weekly board meetings? They would probably say, "How boring! What's the point?" Why don't we ask the younger generation, tomorrow's leaders, about how to make our brand more memorable? They would likely chime in, "What's a brand? Just tell me a story I want to hear!" Innovation can be profound, and yet profoundly simple.

Join the Grant County Economic Growth Council for an innovative luncheon where we will revisit our younger days to tap into a persona of unlimited, unobstructed, untarnished creative confidence. A series of speakers will equip you with the tools and energy you need to return to your business with a rejuvenated approach. Creative problem-solving, inspired partnerships, unorthodox methods, and resourceful networks will be emphasized in the 2015 Date to Innovate. See? Childlike creativity does not mean childish!077

The Grant County Economic Growth Council, in collaboration with Centric Indy, hosts an annual innovative luncheon to inspire business owners, investors, high school and college students, and aspiring entrepreneurs to connect through stories and ideas of business innovation. Jerry McColgin of Collidea spoke at the event's debut in 2014, sharing "10 Ways to be Innovative" to an audience of approximately 100. With an agenda as playful as it is productive, Date to Innovate served as a hub of innovation in Grant County and will continue to do so in years to come!

This year’s event will focus on child-like creativity, with notable guest speakers Thaddeus Rex, John Trout, and Nate Heck. Throughout the afternoon, guests will learn creative ways to revitalize their business attitudes and methods through fun presentations and activities.

RSVP to Charity Bailey at or 765.662.0650 to attend. This event is open to the public and all are welcome!
